Project: Find The Next Major Need
for National Security

Project: Determine the major new threats to national security that will emerge, prove to the public and private sectors the clear and present dangers, and develop a new realm of research and development

The Internet was fast becoming such an integrated part of not just consumers' lives, but industry as well. From air traffic control, food and pharmaceutical processing, water treatment, to the power grid and hospitals, almost every element of our critical infrastructure was connecting to the Internet. Often, allowing powerful and feature-rich remote access and control.

With commerce, and more importantly human safety on the line as the Internet developed, this was clearly the most critical project for which we had ever been engaged.

Up to that point, conventional hackers were thought to be the entirety of the threat to IT. However we determined that was not that case: there was a much greater threat looming against IT and control systems of both the public and private sectors.

While $Billions in new markets resulted from our work,
more importantly, threats to life and property have
        been mitigated.

Today our results are taught at universities
and are chronicled or cited in hundreds of papers,
journals, and more than 50 books in multiple
        languages worldwide.
